The short answer
Children who only speak English learn the Quran well when the teacher explains in English. The reading itself stays in Arabic. Transliteration, English letters that show the sound, can help at the very start, then fades out so children read the Arabic page on their own.

What makes it easier
- A teacher who explains every rule in clear English
- Transliteration at the start, as a bridge
- Plenty of listening and copying
- Comparing Arabic sounds with English ones
Our own OQLS Qaida comes in two forms, with and without English transliteration, so children can start with help and then read on their own.
Quick questions
Should my child rely on transliteration?
Only at first. The goal is to read the Arabic page. The teacher removes it step by step.
