Questions About Online Tafseer Classes
What is Tafseer, and how is it different from translation?
A translation tells you what a verse says. Tafseer explains why it was revealed, what it meant to its first audience, how it connects to the rest of the Quran, and what it asks of you today.
Are the Tafseer classes taught in English?
Yes. English is the most common teaching language on this course, and Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Pushto are also available. You say which you want when you book, and tarjuma can be taught alongside the tafseer.
Do I need to know Arabic to start?
No. Level 1 introduces only as much Arabic grammar as you need to follow the meaning. You should be able to read from the mushaf and follow the tutor in one of the five teaching languages.
Is there a Tafseer course for kids?
Yes — Level 1 is open to children from about seven. It starts with the short surahs they already recite in salah, taught as meaning and story rather than as a lecture.
Which tafsir do you teach from?
Classes are taught from the Quran itself, the Sunnah and the explanations of the Sahaba and Tabi’un, with recognised scholarly tafasir consulted rather than one book recited. If you are studying a particular work, tell your tutor in the trial class.
Can I request a female Tafseer teacher?
Yes. Male and female tutors are available and meet the same standards, you say which you would prefer when you book, and you can ask to change teacher later at no extra cost.
What happens during the free trial?
You meet a tutor and study a short passage together. That is what determines the right starting level and whether the tutor suits how you learn.
What happens after I book, and after the trial classes?
Someone from our team messages you on WhatsApp, usually within 24 hours, to agree a class time. No card details are taken. After the trial you can arrange regular classes with a suitable tutor and schedule, or not continue — there is no obligation either way.
