Online Quran classes for kids

What are online Quran classes for kids?

Online Quran classes for kids are live one-to-one lessons where a qualified teacher teaches your child on a video call. At Online Quran Learnings each class is 30 minutes, children start from age 4, a female supervisor listens to every lesson, and you can book a 3-day free trial before paying. For families in the United Kingdom, lessons are set in your own local time (GMT in winter, BST in summer); after school is usually 4:30–8pm, and we suggest 3 classes a week — £39 a month (about £3.25 a lesson).

  • Noorani Qaida

  • Reading the Quran

From the Qaida into the Quran itself, starting with the short surahs, at your child’s own pace.

  • Same teacher every class

A male or female teacher, your choice, so your child feels at ease and keeps moving forward.

  • Female supervisor in every lesson

She listens to the whole class, so it stays safe, kind and on track.

What will my child learn, and in what order?

Your child moves through these steps in order, at their own pace, and the teacher moves them on only when a step is solid. Islamic studies can run alongside, in the same class.
  1. Noorani Qaida

The Arabic letters and their sounds, then joined letters and the vowel marks (harakat, tanween, madd, sukoon and shaddah), from our own OQLS Qaida.

  2. Reading the Quran

From the Qaida into the Quran itself, starting with the short surahs, at your child’s own pace.

  3. Tajweed

The rules of reciting correctly, like makharij, qalqalah and madd, taught one at a time while your child reads.

  4. Memorisation

Short surahs from Juz Amma first, then Hifz for children who are ready, with revision in every class.

What does my child read in class?

Beginners learn from our own OQLS Qaida. Here are four real pages, from the very first letters to the signs in the Quran.
  • OQLS Qaida lesson 1 with English transliteration under each Arabic letter

    Lesson 1: the letters

Every Arabic letter with its sound written in English underneath, so English-speaking children are never lost.

  • OQLS Qaida lesson 2: joining Arabic letters on a chalkboard

    Lesson 2: joined letters

How a letter changes shape at the start, middle and end of a word.

  • OQLS Qaida lesson 4: the three tanween on a chalkboard

    Lesson 4: tanween

The double vowel marks that add an “n” sound at the end of a word.

  • OQLS Qaida lesson 17: Quranic signs and symbols

    Lesson 17: Quran signs

The stop and pause signs, so your child can read the Quran on their own.

How long does it take a child to read the Quran?

There is no fixed finishing date, and we will not promise one. A child who starts at four moves differently from a child who starts at ten, and three classes a week moves faster than one.

What we do promise is honesty. After the first week the teacher tells you what pace to expect, and every month your report shows exactly which lesson your child is on.

Our suggestion: 3 classes a week. Three classes a week keeps a young child’s memory of each lesson fresh. Every class is 30 minutes and one-to-one, and the fee is the same for every course and for a male or female teacher.

How much do online Quran classes for kids cost in the UK?

Plans start at £25 a month. For this course we suggest 3 classes a week — £39 a month (about £3.25 a lesson). Prices are in pounds sterling. 3 Days Free Trial first, no card.

What time are online Quran classes for kids in the UK?

Classes run 24/7, so any time works. A 30-minute slot fits well between 4:30pm and 8pm after school, or on a Saturday or Sunday morning. We hold your slot through the March and October clock changes, so the lesson does not drift by an hour.

Can my child have a female teacher in the UK?

Yes. Every family in the United Kingdom chooses a male or female teacher, and a female supervisor joins every lesson live.

What age can my child start online Quran classes?

From age 4. Young children start with letters and sounds in short, playful 30-minute lessons. Not sure your child is ready? The 3-day free trial lets you see for yourself, with no card and no obligation.

Is a 30-minute class long enough for a child?

Yes. For children, a focused 30-minute one-to-one lesson several times a week builds more than one long weekly class, because each lesson is revised before the memory fades.

22 more questions
Will my child have the same teacher every time?

Yes. Your child keeps the same teacher, so they build trust and the teacher always knows where they are. If the fit is not right, you can change teacher at any time without giving a reason.

How will I know what my child is learning?

Every month you get a progress report: the lesson your child is on, what is going well and what to practise at home. You can also join any class without telling us first, or ask for the recording of a class.

How quickly will my child learn to read the Quran?

It depends on the child’s age, how many classes a week they take and how much they practise. We do not promise a date; after the first week the teacher gives you an honest estimate.

Can brothers and sisters learn together?

Each child has their own one-to-one class at their own level, so they do not share a lesson. Their classes are often booked back to back.

How soon can my child start?

As soon as a time suits you. After you book, we message you on WhatsApp to agree the time and the teacher, and your child starts with a 3-day free trial.

How is this different from our local madrasah?

A madrasah gives your child a class and a community, and a good one is worth keeping. What it usually cannot give is one-to-one attention: evening classes often run at fifteen or twenty children per teacher. Many families do both — madrasah at the weekend, one-to-one online during the week.

Is an online Quran class safe for my child?

Yes. A female supervisor joins every class live, you can join any lesson without telling us, lessons are recorded, and teachers never contact your child outside class. Every teacher has their ID and certificates checked before teaching.

Can my child learn Quran and Islamic studies in the same class?

Your child can learn Quran and Islamic studies together in the same 30-minute class, or take just one subject. You choose, and the teacher shapes each lesson around your child.

Are the classes live or recorded?

Live, always. Your child reads with a real teacher on a video call, never a recorded course. Lessons are also recorded, so you can ask for the recording any time.

Who is in my child’s class?

Your child, the teacher and a female supervisor who listens to the whole lesson. You are welcome to join too, any time.

Can I sit in on my child’s class?

Yes. You can join any class live, without telling us first.

How do you choose your teachers?

Every teacher passes four checks before a first student: ID verified, Quran and Tajweed certificates checked, an interview and a demo class our team watches, then training in how we teach children.

Can I change my child’s teacher?

Yes, at any time. Just ask. You do not need to give a reason.

Can the teacher contact my child?

No. Teachers never message a child outside class. Every message goes through our team to you.

What language do teachers explain in?

English or Urdu, so your child understands every correction. The reading itself is always in Arabic.

What do we need for a class?

A laptop, tablet or phone, a steady internet connection and headphones with a mic. A quiet spot at a table helps.

How many classes a week can my child have?

From one to five a week. Three or four suit most children; five suits Hifz.

Can we move a class to another time?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp as early as you can and we will find another time, with the same teacher where possible.

What if my child needs to miss a class?

Tell us before the class. You can then have a make-up class or the fee adjusted next month. Classes missed without telling us cannot be made up.

Is the free trial really free?

Yes. 3 Days Free Trial with no card and no obligation. You only pay if you decide to continue.

What is your refund policy?

Ask within 5 calendar days of the first paid class for a full refund. After that, we charge only for the classes your child attended and return the rest.

What if we want to stop?

The trial has no obligation. After that, ask within 5 calendar days of the first paid class for a full refund. After that, attended classes are deducted and the rest is refunded.
