    The short answer

There is no separate Ramadan course: families book our regular one-to-one lessons and set the times around the fast. Each lesson is 30 minutes, live, with a male or female teacher, at any hour.

Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin on Monday 8 February, subject to the moon sighting. Starting in January means the free trial classes and the teacher match are done before the first fast. Plans run from $39 a month for two lessons a week up to $59 for five.

How do Ramadan Quran classes work?

They are our regular one-to-one lessons, booked at times that suit a fasting day. There is no Ramadan package or price: the same 30-minute lessons, on one of our four monthly plans, with the timetable built around suhoor, iftar and taraweeh.

Children start from age 4; teenagers and adults of any age are welcome. Our Islamic classes for kids page lists what a teacher can cover with a child.

    Before the first fast

    Why start lessons in January?

So that Ramadan isn’t week one. The fast already brings a new routine: later nights, an early suhoor, iftar in the evening. A new teacher and a new kind of lesson on top of that is a lot to ask of a child.

From a January trial to the first fast
    1. January trialUp to 3 free trial classes. Your child meets the teacher and you see how they settle.
    2. The right teacherIf the match isn’t right, you can change teacher without giving a reason.
    3. A few weeks of lessonsYour plan at fixed times, so the habit is in place before the month begins.
    4. Ramadan hours agreedBefore the first taraweeh, tell us on WhatsApp the hours that suit your fasting days.
    5. From 8 FebruaryLessons carry on through the month at the new times.

This is about ease, not a deadline. There is no Ramadan price to catch, and you can start during the month itself. It is just calmer that way.

    Around the fast

What time should Ramadan Quran lessons be?

At whatever hour your family is calm and awake, since lessons can be booked at any hour, seven days a week. Who is learning matters more than the clock.

    A young child

Straight after school often suits a child who isn’t fasting, as long as the lesson ends before the family sits down to iftar.

    An older child or teenager

If they are fasting, the end of the school day is often their lowest point. After iftar, or a weekend morning, tends to go better.

    An adult

Late at night after taraweeh, or before suhoor while the house sleeps. Some working adults like a lunchtime lesson.

Offsets in February 2027: UK UTC+0, New York and Toronto UTC−5, Sydney UTC+11, Pakistan UTC+5. Iftar, taraweeh and suhoor times depend on your city, so check your mosque’s timetable and book either side of them.

Teachers mostly keep Pakistan time, so your evening may be their night. That is normal here, and a 3 am lesson for the teacher is booked like any other.

    Inside the lessons

What do Ramadan lessons focus on?

The same course your child is already on, leaning towards what this month is for. There is no separate Ramadan syllabus. The teacher shifts the weight of each lesson to suit the learner’s stage.

What you can ask the teacher to focus on in Ramadan, by stage
    LearnerFocus in RamadanKept steady
A young child still on the QaidaShort surahs and everyday duas, learned by listening and repeatingTheir Noorani Qaida lessons, so the letters don’t slip
An older child reading from the mushafMore pages read aloud, with each Tajweed slip corrected on the spotA realistic portion, agreed with the teacher at the start
A teenagerReading through the Quran with a teacher correcting as they goTajweed rules named and applied on every page
An adultReading through the Quran with correction, or Tajweed from where you are nowA pace that survives work, fasting and late nights
The teacher follows your family’s goals and practice for the month.

Daily home targets by age are in our Ramadan Quran plan for kids. The two fit together: the teacher corrects, and the minutes at home keep it going between lessons.

      Choosing a plan

How many lessons a week in Ramadan?

Three, four or five lessons a week gives more time with a teacher in Ramadan; two is fine if that is what you can keep up. More lessons means more reading aloud and more correction, but only if every slot actually happens.

Our plans, and who each one suits in Ramadan

      Ten minutes in January

What should we prepare before Ramadan lessons start?

A screen, a quiet corner and a lesson time the whole family knows about. All of it is easier to sort in January than on the first evening of the fast.

      • A laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a pair of headphones.
      • A quiet spot with steady Wi-Fi, away from the kitchen at iftar time.
      • The Qaida or mushaf your child reads from, on the table before the lesson starts.
      • For a young child, a parent sitting close by for the whole lesson.
      • The Ramadan lesson times on the fridge or the family calendar.
      • One goal for the month to tell the teacher, such as finishing a Qaida section or reading a set portion with fewer stops.

      Said plainly

Who are Ramadan lessons not for?

A family that wants a 30-day crash course with no plan to carry on. Plans are monthly, and the reading built in Ramadan is kept by the lessons that follow it. Keep going after Eid so the month’s reading is not lost.

      • Families who can’t keep fixed times. A lesson can move now and then, but a slot that changes every day doesn’t work for a child or a teacher.
      • Children under 4. Lessons start from age 4.
      • A young child with no adult nearby. For the first months, a parent close by is part of the lesson.
      • Anyone looking for a group circle. Every lesson is one teacher and one student. For a Ramadan halaqa with friends, the mosque is the place.

If Eid lands on a lesson day and you would like it off, tell us on WhatsApp and we agree another time. The expected Eid dates are on our Eid al-Fitr 2027 page.

      Frequently asked questions

Do you run a special Ramadan course?

No. Families book our regular one-to-one lessons and set the times around the fast; the courses, teachers and prices are the same as the rest of the year.

      When does Ramadan 2027 start?

It is expected to begin on Monday 8 February 2027, with the first taraweeh on the evening of Sunday 7 February, subject to the moon sighting.

Can lessons be after taraweeh or before suhoor?

Yes. Lessons can be booked at any hour, seven days a week, so a late-night or pre-dawn slot is as easy to arrange as an afternoon one.

Can we book lessons for Ramadan only?

There is no Ramadan-only plan. Families book one of our regular plans, from $39 to $59 a month, and keep it going after Eid.

      Is there a Ramadan discount?

No. Plans cost the same all year: $39, $49, $55 or $59 a month for two, three, four or five lessons a week.

My child is fasting for the first time. Should we keep the lessons?

Yes, but move them to an hour when your child has some energy. For many children that is after iftar or at the weekend, rather than straight after school.

Can adults take Quran classes in Ramadan?

Yes. An adult can read through the Quran with a teacher correcting, or work on Tajweed, with a male or female teacher. See online Quran classes for adults.

Can I watch my child’s Ramadan lessons?

Yes. You can sit beside your child or join any lesson live without telling us first, and a female supervisor joins every class.
