Best online Quran academies for kids in Australia

Checked 2026-10-26 · Updated 2026-10-26 · By Online Quran Learnings

The short answer

No academy suits every Australian family. For a female supervisor in every lesson and recordings parents can watch, look at us (from A$30 a month for one lesson a week). For native Arab teachers and female teachers for girls, Murouj Academy. For the lowest price for one lesson a week, Quran In Depth (US$17). For a long track record and monthly tests, TarteeleQuran.

In Australian dollars, five 30-minute lessons a week cost A$89 a month with us, A$90 at eQuranSchool and A$110 at TarteeleQuran. Murouj Academy says plainly that teachers abroad cannot hold a Working with Children Check, and so do we.

Online Quran Learnings publishes this page and is one of the six academies compared, so we may benefit if you choose us. Every fact about another academy comes from its own pages and Trustpilot (listed under Sources, with the date we read them); we applied the same checks to everyone, ourselves included. Prices and policies change, so please check each academy’s site before you pay, and tell us if anything here is wrong.

Where we fit: one-to-one lessons for children from age 4, a female supervisor in every lesson, a test every month, from A$30 a month and a free trial of up to 3 days with no card. See how we compare ↓

Online Quran Learnings (us)

  • A$30, A$59, A$74, A$83, A$89 a month per child for one to five 30-minute lessons a week; Hifz lessons of 45 or 60 minutes, five a week, are A$128 and A$166. No registration fee and no sibling discount.
  • A female supervisor joins every lesson live; you can join any class without telling us, and every lesson is recorded for parents to watch. Every child is tested at the end of each month, and the monthly progress report is based on that test.
  • Our teachers are mostly based in Egypt, the UAE, India and Pakistan. We check every teacher’s ID and certificates before they teach, and a female supervisor joins every class. Every Hifz teacher is a hafiz or hafiza: they have memorised the whole Quran themselves. Because our teachers live outside Australia, we do not claim a Working with Children Check for them.
  • Lessons can be booked at any hour, any day, in your own local time.
  • Ask within 5 calendar days of the first paid class for a full refund. After that, attended classes are deducted and the rest is refunded.

May suit: families who want someone else in every lesson, a recording to watch, a monthly test, and prices in their own currency. More for families here: online Quran classes for kids in Australia.

The other five academies

Murouj Academy

Private one-to-one lessons of 30, 45 or 60 minutes with native Arab teachers, including Ijazah holders; female students only ever have female teachers, parents decide who teaches their child, and there is a free trial class (Australia page). Prices are not published: your package price comes by WhatsApp, invoiced monthly in Australian dollars (pricing). It says plainly that its teachers live outside Australia, so they cannot hold a Working with Children Check, and that it has no Australian office or ABN. May suit: families who want Arab teachers and female teachers for girls.

Shaykhi Academy

Plans of 30, 40 or 60 minutes, one to five a week, from $18.99 a month for one 30-minute lesson a week to $94.99 for five (shown as “$”), each beside a higher price, renewing monthly, with 10% off for families by coupon (fees). Its teachers include Al-Azhar graduates, its Hifz course records sessions so parents can track progress, and it sends monthly progress reports. Its refund policy gives a full refund within 7 days of the first payment if no more than two paid sessions were attended; its pages differ on the trial (one or two free classes). May suit: families who want one lesson a week at a low price.

Quran In Depth

One-on-one lessons with teachers it describes as Al-Azhar certified native Arabs, at US$8.50 an hour: US$17 a month for one 30-minute lesson a week, US$34 for two, US$51 for three and US$85 for five, with prices converted to Australian dollars at the day’s rate if you choose them (pricing). One free 30-minute evaluation with no card, a 10% to 15% family discount, and progress reports for parents. May suit: families who want Arab teachers and a low price for one or two lessons a week.

TarteeleQuran

Its fee page lists Australian-dollar prices of A$44 a month for two 30-minute lessons a week, A$66 for three, A$88 for four and A$110 for five, and a Hifz plan at A$205 (its Australian site shows the same figures as “$”), plus a one-time registration fee it does not publish. All classes are recorded for quality checks and a quality team tests every student each month; it does not refund once a class has taken place. May suit: families who weigh a long track record and monthly tests.

eQuranSchool

Australian-dollar prices of A$45 a month for two lessons a week, A$60 for three, A$75 for four and A$90 for five, with 20% off the second and later siblings, after a free trial session (fees). Parents can sit in; lessons are not recorded (read 2 October 2026). May suit: larger families who want Australian-dollar prices.

How to choose an online Quran academy for your child in Australia

  • Ask who checks the teacher. A Working with Children Check is for people in Australia; teachers who live abroad cannot hold one, so ask what the academy checks instead.
  • Ask who else is in the lesson, whether you can join without notice, and whether it is recorded.
  • Check whether the price is in Australian or US dollars, and any registration fee.
  • Ask for after-school times in your state’s time, and how slots move when daylight saving starts and ends.
  • Read the refund terms before the first payment.

How we chose and checked these academies

  • We picked the academies that Google Gemini and Google’s top results named for parents in Australia on 26 October 2026, plus academies we already compare, and ourselves.
  • Every fact comes from the academy’s own pages and its Trustpilot page; we did not use other comparison sites. Where an academy’s pages disagree, we say so. The date we read each page is under Sources.
  • Prices are for one child a month, in the currency the academy shows. Where an academy shows only “$”, we say the currency is not named.
  • Trustpilot: ratings only, because the number of reviews behind each rating differs a great deal.

Which is the best online Quran academy for kids in Australia?

It depends on your family. For a female supervisor in every lesson and recordings, look at us; for native Arab teachers and female teachers for girls, Murouj Academy; for one low-cost lesson a week, Quran In Depth; for a long track record, TarteeleQuran. Book two trials and compare.

How much do online Quran classes for kids cost in Australia?

Our plans start at A$30 a month for one 30-minute lesson a week (Quran In Depth’s is US$17). For two lessons a week, A$44 at TarteeleQuran, A$45 at eQuranSchool and A$59 with us; for five a week, A$89 with us, A$90 and A$110. Quran In Depth and Shaykhi Academy show dollar prices instead. Prices checked 23 to 26 October 2026.

Do online Quran teachers need a Working with Children Check?

A Working with Children Check is run by each state and territory for people in Australia. Teachers who live abroad cannot hold one; Murouj Academy and we both say so. We check ID and certificates, watch a demo class, and a female supervisor joins every lesson.

Can my daughter have a female Quran teacher?

Yes. Murouj Academy gives female students female teachers only, TarteeleQuran matches teachers to students by gender, eQuranSchool offers a female teacher on request, and with us you choose a male or female teacher, with a female supervisor in every lesson either way.
