The short answer
When you search for Quran classes near you, there are two good options: a class at your local mosque or madrasa, or live one-to-one lessons with a Quran teacher at home, online. Online Quran Learnings teaches children from age 4 in the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UAE: 30-minute lessons on video, booked in your own time zone, with a female supervisor in every class.
Whichever you choose, check who teaches, who else is in the room, how you will see progress and how easy it is to change. Our fees start at $30 a month, and you can try a free trial of up to 3 days, with no card, before you decide.

Before you book
How do I choose a good Quran class near me?
Ask the same six questions of any Quran class, at a mosque, a teacher’s home or online. A good class answers them without hesitating.
- Who teaches, and how were they checked? Ask about ID, Quran and Tajweed qualifications, an interview and a lesson someone watched
- Who else is in the room or on the call while my child is taught?
- How much of each lesson will my child spend reading to the teacher?
- How will I see progress: a report, a test, the chance to sit in?
- Can my child keep the same teacher, and can I change teacher if it is not working?
- Can we try a class first, and how easy is it to stop?

Two good options
A Quran class near me, or a teacher at home online?
Online, one-to-one at home
- Your child reads to the teacher for the whole lesson
- Times you pick, any hour, in your local time
- Parents can watch any class; lessons are recorded
- No drive there and back
A local class (mosque or madrasa)
- Friends, community and the masjid
- Fixed days and times for the whole group
- The teacher’s time is shared across the class
- A journey on every class day
Many families do both: the mosque for community, online lessons for steady one-to-one reading.
More detail: online Quran classes vs mosque classes, a home Quran tutor or online classes and the online madrasa for kids.

Who is in the lesson
Who teaches my child, and who else is in the class?
A teacher of your choice, male or female, checked before they teach. Our teachers are mostly based in Egypt, the UAE, India and Pakistan. We check every teacher’s ID and certificates before they teach, and a female supervisor joins every class.
- Every teacher’s ID and Quran and Tajweed certificates are checked, then an interview and a demo class our team watches
- A female supervisor joins every lesson live and listens to the whole class
- Parents can sit in on any lesson without telling us first
- Every lesson is recorded; parents can watch their child’s recordings
- Teachers never message a child outside the lesson
- If a teacher is not the right fit, we change them; you do not have to explain why
Every child is tested at the end of each month, and the monthly progress report is based on that test. The full rules are on our child safety page.
