Madani Islamic Academy vs Online Quran Learnings

Checked 2026-10-27 · Updated 2026-10-27 · By Online Quran Learnings

The short answer

Madani Islamic Academy costs less than we do on its 2, 3 and 5-day plans, in pounds, and it is a UK-registered company. It is registered in Scotland (No. SC781795), teaches one-to-one in 30-minute lessons, as we do, and publishes a safeguarding and child protection policy and an online class safety policy. Two lessons a week are £30 a month there and £32 with us; three are £35 and £39; five are £40 and £48. The gap is £2 to £8 a month, depending on the plan (our sums). Its weekend-only plan is £35 a month for 8 lessons, £3 more than our £32 for the same 8. It publishes no plan for one or four lessons a week; we have both.

What differs for a parent: a female supervisor joins every one of our lessons, every lesson is recorded for parents to watch, parents can join any class, every child is tested each month, and our refund window stays open for 5 days after the first paid class. Madani says parents are welcome to sit in, that every class runs under the academy’s supervision, and that classes may be recorded or monitored. Its pages do not describe another adult in the lesson, say parents can watch recordings, or mention a DBS or other background check, and its monthly fee is generally not refundable once regular classes start.

Online Quran Learnings publishes this page and is one of the two academies compared, so we may benefit if you choose us. Every fact about Madani Islamic Academy comes from Madani Islamic Academy’s own pages (listed under Sources), read on 27 October 2026. Prices and policies change, so please check Madani Islamic Academy’s site before you pay, and tell us if anything here is wrong.

Where we fit: a female supervisor in every lesson, every lesson recorded for parents, from £25 a month and a free trial of up to 3 days with no card. See the table ↓

What each costs a month and a year

2 a week (8 a month)£32 a month, £384 a year£30 a month, £360 a year; £35 a month, £420 a year, for a weekend-only plan
3 a week (12 a month)£39 a month, £468 a year£35 a month, £420 a year
4 a week (16 a month)£44 a month, £528 a yearNo plan published
5 a week (20 a month)£48 a month, £576 a year£40 a month, £480 a year

Both academies teach 30-minute lessons and price in pounds for UK families. Year totals are twelve months of the monthly price, our sum. Madani says other options may be available on request. Neither charges a registration fee.

The gap: Madani is cheaper on its 2, 3 and 5-day plans, by £2 to £8 a month, which is £24 to £96 over a year (our sums). Its weekend-only plan (£35 for 8 lessons) costs £3 a month more than our two-lessons-a-week plan (£32). Its sibling discount (10% off a second child, 5% off a third) applies only to separate 5-day plans, it takes 5% off for six months paid in advance and 10% for twelve, and it sells a £75 a month family package for 3 or 4 learners (five 60-minute lessons a week). We have no sibling discount or family package; each child has their own class and fee. On our plans the price per lesson falls as you add lessons, from £6.25 for 4 lessons to £2.40 for 20.

Hifz: Madani’s Hifz classes are 30 minutes, split into new memorisation, two kinds of revision and a short Islamic studies slot. It has five programmes, a final assessment by its Test Department, and a Completion Certificate for students who pass. Whether its Hifz teachers are huffaz is not clear from its page text. Our Hifz teachers are huffaz, and Hifz lessons are 30 minutes (£48 a month, five a week), 45 minutes (£69) or 60 minutes (£89); we issue no certificates, and every child is tested each month. See our online Hifz program.

Who teaches, and who is in the lesson with your child

Madani’s pages say its teachers are qualified and trained in Tajweed, that they complete a 3-month training before teaching (many do not pass), and that they attend refresher training and weekly review meetings. They call them “Verified, Trained Teachers” without saying what is verified, and do not list required qualifications or say where teachers are based. Its online class safety policy, its safeguarding policy, its UK page and its FAQs do not mention a DBS, criminal record or other background check, and no safeguarding lead is named; concerns go to a general email address or WhatsApp number.

It does publish its policies (updated 26 May 2026). They say teachers should not contact children privately outside approved class communication, that students and parents must not record or share class content, that young children should be supervised during class where needed, and that classes may be recorded or monitored for quality and safeguarding. Its about page says classes are recorded and reviewed, and other pages say parents are welcome to sit in at any time. They do not say another adult joins the lesson, or that parents can watch recordings.

With us: every teacher has their ID and certificates checked, an interview and a demo class our team watches, and training before a first student. Our teachers are mostly based in Egypt, the UAE, India and Pakistan, and we do not claim a DBS check. Then, in every lesson:

  • A female supervisor joins every lesson live and listens from start to finish (child safety).
  • Parents can join any class live, without telling us first.
  • Every lesson is recorded on the academy’s own Google Meet, and parents can watch their child’s recordings through our CRM.
  • Teachers never message a child outside class. Every message goes through our team to you.
  • If a teacher is not the right fit, we change them. You do not need to give a reason.

Tests: Every child is tested at the end of each month, and the monthly progress report is based on that test.

Free trial and refunds

  • Trial: Madani offers a 2-day free trial, a 30-minute lesson with no payment, subject to teacher availability. It does not say how many classes fall in the 2 days or whether a card is needed. We offer up to 3 days of real lessons free, with no card.
  • Refunds: Madani’s monthly fee is generally not refundable once regular classes have started. Refunds are reviewed by management, approval is not automatic, and an approved refund may be reduced by payment-processor fees and admin costs. If it cannot provide a class for an internal reason, management may offer an adjustment, which is not necessarily a refund. A class missed without notice counts as taken, and make-up classes are not guaranteed. We refund in full if you ask within 5 calendar days of the first paid class, and after that we deduct the classes attended and refund the rest (refund policy).
  • Registration fee: Madani says it charges no registration or admission fee. We charge none either.

Which suits your family

Madani Islamic Academy may suit you if you want a UK-registered company whose number you can check on Companies House, published safeguarding and class safety policies, a lower price on its 2, 3 and 5-day plans (£2 to £8 a month less than ours, depending on the plan), a sibling discount on 5-day plans or a family package for 3 or 4 learners, parents sitting in on lessons, or a Completion Certificate at the end of a Hifz programme. It also fits a family that does not need a supervisor in the lesson or recordings for parents.

We may suit you if you want a supervisor in every lesson and a recording you can watch afterwards, one fixed teacher your child keeps, and a price that drops per lesson as you add classes: from £25 a month for one lesson a week to £48 for five. UK families pay in pounds (fees).

Both offer a free trial, so the fairest test is to book both, sit in on the lessons and see which teacher your child listens to. Our questions to ask in a free trial help you compare like for like, and more UK options are side by side in our best online Quran academies for kids in the UK guide.
