The short answer
Before you pay, an academy should show you in writing: the monthly fee and what it covers, what happens when they or you miss a class, how refunds work, who is in the lesson, and how to stop. If any of these are vague, ask before you start.

The checklist
- Monthly fee, number of lessons, lesson length
- Missed by the academy: refund or credit?
- Missed by you: make-up class? How much notice?
- Holidays: included or extra?
- Refund policy, with time limits
- Who supervises lessons
- How to change teacher
- How to stop
Ours are all on our class policy, refund policy and child safety pages.
Quick questions
