Noorani Qaida classes

What is the Noorani Qaida?

Noorani Qaida is the beginner’s book that teaches children to read Arabic before they read the Quran. It moves from single letters to joined letters, vowel marks, tanween, long vowels, sukoon and shaddah. Our children learn from the OQLS Qaida, our own colourful 17-lesson book, one-to-one and at their own pace. For families in the UAE, lessons are set in your own local time (Gulf Standard Time (GST, UTC+4) all year); after school is usually 4–8pm, and we suggest 2 classes a week — AED 120 a month (about AED 15.00 a lesson).

  • Single letters

The 29 Arabic letters, each with its correct sound and makhraj (where it is pronounced).

  • Joined letters

How letters change shape at the start, middle and end of a word.

  • Same teacher every class

A male or female teacher, your choice, so your child feels at ease and keeps moving forward.

  • Female supervisor in every lesson

She listens to the whole class, so it stays safe, kind and on track.

What is inside the OQLS Qaida?

Four real pages your child will read with the teacher, shared on screen in every lesson.
  • OQLS Qaida page showing where letters are said from in the mouth (makharij)

Where each letter is said from

Pictures of the mouth and throat show where each sound comes from, so children say it right from day one.

  • OQLS Qaida page: there are 8 heavy letters, with a teacher at a chalkboard

    The 8 heavy letters

Some letters are said with a full mouth. This page shows which ones, so they never sound thin.

  • OQLS Qaida lesson 2: joining Arabic letters on a chalkboard

    Joined letters

How letters change shape when they join. This is the step where many children get stuck, so we take it slowly.

  • OQLS Qaida lesson 3: letters with fathah in a colourful frame

    Short vowels

Fathah, kasrah and dammah: the small marks that turn letters into sounds your child can read.

What does my child need before starting?

Nothing at all. Your child can start without knowing any Arabic letters.
  • A laptop, tablet or phoneA bigger screen makes the page easier to see, but a phone works.
  • Headphones with a micSo the teacher hears every letter clearly.
  • A steady internet connectionThe same connection you use for video calls.
  • A quiet spot at a tableAway from the TV and younger brothers and sisters.
  • Nothing to buyThe teacher shares every page on screen.
  • English or UrduTeachers explain in either, so your child understands every correction.

Practice between classes: A few minutes a day reading the row from class out loud. You do not need to read Arabic to help.

How long does Noorani Qaida take?

It depends on your child’s age, how many classes a week they take and how much they practise. A four-year-old needs more repetition than a nine-year-old, and that is normal.

Rather than promise a date, the teacher watches the first week of lessons and then gives you an honest estimate. Every monthly report shows the lesson your child is on, so you can see the progress yourself.

Our suggestion: 2 classes a week. Two classes a week give a young child time to practise each row between lessons. Every class is 30 minutes and one-to-one, and the fee is the same for every course and for a male or female teacher.

What time are Noorani Qaida classes in the UAE?

Classes run 24/7, so any time works. A 30-minute slot fits well between 4pm and 8pm after school, or on a Saturday or Sunday, and Friday afternoons work well too. The UAE does not change its clocks, so your slot stays fixed all year. Most schools have a Saturday–Sunday weekend; Sharjah also has Friday off.

Can my child have a female teacher in the UAE?

Yes. Every family in the UAE chooses a male or female teacher, and a female supervisor joins every lesson live.

How long does Noorani Qaida take for a child?

It varies with age and how many classes a week a child takes. Rather than promise a date, the teacher watches the first week of lessons and then gives you an honest estimate.

Can a 4-year-old learn Noorani Qaida online?

Yes. Four-year-olds learn letters and sounds through short, repeated practice. A one-to-one lesson lets the teacher slow down, repeat and keep it playful.

21 more questions
Do I need to buy a Qaida book?

No. Your child learns from our own OQLS Qaida, and the teacher shares each page on screen in every lesson.

What is the OQLS Qaida?

Our own Noorani Qaida for children: 17 lessons in 205 colourful pages, with and without English transliteration, with pictures that show where each letter is said from.

My child learnt some Qaida before. Do they start again?

What comes after Noorani Qaida?

Reading the Quran itself, starting with short surahs, with Tajweed rules added as the child reads.

Can my child take classes on Friday?

Yes. We teach 24/7, including Fridays. Many UAE families book a Friday afternoon or a weekend morning alongside one or two weekday evenings.

Is an online Quran class safe for my child?

Yes. A female supervisor joins every class live, you can join any lesson without telling us, lessons are recorded, and teachers never contact your child outside class. Every teacher has their ID and certificates checked before teaching.

Can my child learn Quran and Islamic studies in the same class?

Your child can learn Quran and Islamic studies together in the same 30-minute class, or take just one subject. You choose, and the teacher shapes each lesson around your child.

Are the classes live or recorded?

Live, always. Your child reads with a real teacher on a video call, never a recorded course. Lessons are also recorded, so you can ask for the recording any time.

Who is in my child’s class?

Your child, the teacher and a female supervisor who listens to the whole lesson. You are welcome to join too, any time.

Can I sit in on my child’s class?

Every teacher passes four checks before a first student: ID verified, Quran and Tajweed certificates checked, an interview and a demo class our team watches, then training in how we teach children.

Can I change my child’s teacher?

Yes, at any time. Just ask. You do not need to give a reason.

Can the teacher contact my child?

No. Teachers never message a child outside class. Every message goes through our team to you.

What language do teachers explain in?

English or Urdu, so your child understands every correction. The reading itself is always in Arabic.

What do we need for a class?

A laptop, tablet or phone, a steady internet connection and headphones with a mic. A quiet spot at a table helps.

How many classes a week can my child have?

From one to five a week. Three or four suit most children; five suits Hifz.

Can we move a class to another time?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp as early as you can and we will find another time, with the same teacher where possible.

What if my child needs to miss a class?

Tell us before the class. You can then have a make-up class or the fee adjusted next month. Classes missed without telling us cannot be made up.

Is the free trial really free?

Yes. 3 Days Free Trial with no card and no obligation. You only pay if you decide to continue.

What is your refund policy?
