IQRA Network vs Online Quran Learnings

Checked 2026-10-27 · Updated 2026-10-27 · By Online Quran Learnings

The short answer

Both are academies with their own teachers, and IQRA Network says more than most about how it checks them. It says every teacher is selected from Al-Azhar University, interviewed, verified, background checked and trained before teaching, and it offers named levels with tests, an e-certificate and a dedicated academic coach. It also says it has over 3,000 active students, and its Trustpilot rating is 4.8.

The differences that change a parent’s decision: IQRA does not say whether anyone else sits in the lesson or whether parents can watch live, while a female supervisor joins every one of ours and parents can join any class. IQRA bills by the hour (US$12, US$14 or US$17 by plan) and does not publish a lesson length. Counting 30-minute lessons, two a week come to US$48 to US$68 a month there, against US$39 with us. At one lesson a week its Essentials and Pro plans cost less than our US$30; from two a week we cost less than every IQRA plan.

Online Quran Learnings publishes this page and is one of the two academies compared, so we may benefit if you choose us. Every fact about IQRA Network comes from IQRA Network’s own pages (listed under Sources), read on 27 October 2026. Prices and policies change, so please check IQRA Network’s site before you pay, and tell us if anything here is wrong.

Where we fit: an academy with a female supervisor in every lesson, every lesson recorded for parents, from US$30 a month and a free trial of up to 3 days with no card. See the table ↓

What each costs a month and a year

One child, 30-minute lessons, US dollars
LessonsOnline Quran LearningsIQRA Network at US$12 to US$17 an hour
1 a week (4 a month)US$30 a month, US$360 a yearUS$24 to US$34 a month, US$288 to US$408 a year
2 a week (8 a month)US$39 a month, US$468 a yearUS$48 to US$68 a month, US$576 to US$816 a year
3 a week (12 a month)US$49 a month, US$588 a yearUS$72 to US$102 a month, US$864 to US$1,224 a year
4 a week (16 a month)US$55 a month, US$660 a yearUS$96 to US$136 a month, US$1,152 to US$1,632 a year
5 a week (20 a month)US$59 a month, US$708 a yearUS$120 to US$170 a month, US$1,440 to US$2,040 a year

IQRA Network bills by the hour and does not publish a lesson length, so these rows are our sums and count 30-minute lessons (an hour is two lessons); hour-long lessons would double each IQRA figure. The range runs from its Essentials plan (US$12 an hour) to Elite (US$17), with Pro at US$14, as on its pricing page on 27 October 2026; its help centre lists different plans and lower rates, which we have not used. Year totals are twelve months of the monthly price.

On our plans the price per lesson falls as you add lessons, from US$30 for 4 lessons to US$59 for 20. At IQRA every half hour costs the same by plan however many you book, so the more lessons a week you book, the better our price compares. At one lesson a week its Essentials plan (US$24) and Pro plan (US$28) cost less than ours.

What the plans change: the three plans differ in the hourly rate, how often you get a progress report, the family discount, and how many refunds you can use for lessons you cancel (see below). Its pricing page lists an academic coach, an e-certificate and video recordings on all three.

Two or more children: IQRA takes 10% off on Elite and 5% off on Pro as a family discount (Essentials lists one without a figure). We have no sibling discount; each child has their own class and fee.

Hifz: IQRA’s memorization course has four named levels (Readiness, Amma Achiever, Tabarak Trailblazer and Memorization Pro), the first three entered by passing a test. It does not say how long Hifz lessons are or whether its Hifz teachers are huffaz. Our Hifz teachers are huffaz, and every child is tested at the end of each month. See our online Hifz program.

Who teaches, and who is in the lesson with your child

IQRA Network is clear about how it chooses teachers. Its teachers page says it selects each teacher from Al-Azhar University, puts every candidate through interviews, a verification process and a full background check, requires training and onboarding before teaching, and re-evaluates teachers regularly. The family chooses the teacher’s gender, and its female teachers are certified with ijaza. Most of its teachers are in Egypt. It does not say whether its Hifz teachers are huffaz.

What it does not say is whether anyone else joins the lesson, or whether parents can watch live. Its pricing page lists video recordings on all three plans but not who can watch them (its help centre lists different plans). A dedicated academic coach and progress reports come with the plans: every quarter on Elite, twice a year on Pro and yearly on Essentials.

With us: every teacher has their ID and certificates checked, an interview and a demo class our team watches, and training before a first student. Then, in every lesson:

  • A female supervisor joins every lesson live and listens from start to finish (child safety).
  • Parents can join any class live, without telling us first.
  • Every lesson is recorded on the academy’s own Google Meet, and parents can watch their child’s recordings through our CRM.
  • Teachers never message a child outside class. Every message goes through our team to you.
  • If a teacher is not the right fit, we change them. You do not need to give a reason.

Tests: Every child is tested at the end of each month, and the monthly progress report is based on that test.

Free trial and refunds

  • Trial: IQRA’s pricing page invites you to start with a free lesson, and its help centre describes a free, no-obligation evaluation with an academic coach. Its pages do not say how long it is, how many you get or whether a card is needed; paid plans are billed monthly by card. We offer up to 3 days of real lessons free, with no card.
  • Refunds: IQRA’s terms set refunds by plan rather than a money-back period. A lesson the teacher cancels is refunded in full; for lessons you cancel with at least 4 hours’ notice, Elite allows up to 3 refunds a month, Pro 1 and Essentials none; and no refunds are issued when an account is closed. We refund in full if you ask within 5 calendar days of the first paid class, and after that we deduct the classes attended and refund the rest (refund policy).
  • Billing: IQRA bills by the hour, monthly, by card. We bill month by month on a fixed plan.

Which suits your family

IQRA Network may suit you if you want a stated background check for every teacher, teachers selected from Al-Azhar, named levels with periodic tests and an e-certificate, a dedicated academic coach, or a family discount on its Elite or Pro plan, and you are happy to book and pay by the hour. If school credit matters, it lists WASC accreditation for grades 9 to 12 only; that is for its school programme, not a mark on its Quran lessons.

We may suit you if you want a supervisor in every lesson and a recording you can watch afterwards, one fixed teacher your child keeps, and a price that drops per lesson as you add classes: from US$30 a month for one lesson a week to US$59 for five. Families in the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UAE pay in their own currency (fees).

Whichever you try first, ask who else is in the lesson, whether you can watch, how long each lesson is and what happens to your money after the first class. Our questions to ask in a free trial list the rest.

Is IQRA Network good for kids?

It teaches children and adults, its Aqeedah course starts at age five, and it says its teachers are selected from Al-Azhar, background checked and trained. Its Trustpilot rating is 4.8. It does not say whether anyone else joins the lesson or whether parents can watch live; with us a female supervisor joins every lesson and parents can join any class.

IQRA Network vs Online Quran Learnings: which is cheaper?

It depends on lesson length, which IQRA does not publish. Counting 30-minute lessons at its rates (US$12 to US$17 an hour), two a week cost US$48 to US$68 a month, against US$39 with us. At one lesson a week its Essentials and Pro plans (US$24 and US$28) cost less than our US$30. Hour-long lessons would double its figures.

Does IQRA Network have a free trial?

Its pricing page says to start with a free lesson, and its help centre describes a free evaluation with an academic coach. Neither says how long it lasts, how many you get or whether a card is needed. We offer up to 3 days of real lessons free, with no card.

Is IQRA Network accredited?

Its accreditation page lists WASC accreditation for grades 9 to 12 only, which is for its school programme, and a syllabus accreditation from Al-Maasarawi. We issue no certificates; every child is tested at the end of each month and the monthly progress report is based on that test.

Are IQRA Network lessons supervised or recorded?

IQRA does not say whether anyone else joins the lesson. Its pricing page lists video recordings on all three plans but not who can watch them (its help centre lists different plans). With us a female supervisor joins every lesson, parents can join any class live, and every lesson is recorded for parents to watch through our CRM.

Can I get a refund from IQRA Network?

Its terms refund a lesson the teacher cancels, and allow refunds for lessons you cancel in time on some plans (up to 3 a month on Elite, 1 on Pro, none on Essentials). No refunds are issued when an account is closed. We refund in full if you ask within 5 calendar days of the first paid class.
