    Building strong Islamic foundations

What is Islamic Studies for kids?

Islamic Studies is the part of a child’s education that explains their faith: what we believe, how we pray, the duas we say through the day, and the lives of the Prophets. Here it is taught live, one teacher and one child, at the level your child is actually at.

Most children take it alongside their Quran lessons, so reading the Quran and understanding Islam grow together. It can also be a course on its own, for example for a child who already reads well, or one who mainly needs help with salah. You choose the mix when we talk on WhatsApp.

Lessons are explained in English, Arabic or Urdu, whichever your child follows best. The Arabic of the duas and surahs is always taught with its meaning.

    Islamic Studies syllabus

What is in the Islamic Studies syllabus?

Six strands run through the course. The teacher picks the starting point in the trial and moves through them at your child’s pace, so a five-year-old and a twelve-year-old never get the same lesson.

    1. 01

      Belief (Aqeedah)

The six articles of faith, Tawheed explained simply through Surah Al-Ikhlas, the Kalimas, and gentle answers to children’s big questions. More on aqeedah lessons.

    2. 02

      Wudu and Salah

Each step of wudu, the positions of salah and the words said in them, with their meaning. The teacher demonstrates on camera and watches your child pray. Salah classes for kids.

    3. 03

      Daily duas

The short duas for waking up, eating, leaving the house and going to sleep, learned with correct pronunciation and what they mean. Daily supplications.

    4. 04

      Short surahs

The surahs used in salah, usually from Juz Amma, memorised steadily and revised so they stay. Juz Amma for kids.

    5. 05

      The Seerah and the Prophets

The life of the Prophet ﷺ and the stories of the Prophets from the Quran, told at a child’s level, with one Hadith or lesson to take away. Seerah for kids.

    6. 06

      Manners (Adab)

Salam, honesty, kindness to parents, table manners and patience, each tied to a Hadith and practised at home that week. Islamic manners for kids.

There are no exams. Progress shows up in what your child can do: pray a full salah, say the right dua at the table, tell you a story they learned.

      FAQ

The questions parents ask us most, answered.

What is taught in online Islamic Studies classes for kids?

Belief (aqeedah), wudu and salah, the daily duas, short surahs for prayer, the life of the Prophet ﷺ and the stories of the Prophets, and Islamic manners. The teacher chooses the order to suit your child’s age and what they already know.

What age can a child start Islamic Studies?

From four years old. Young children start with short duas, the Kalimas and simple stories; older children go further into salah, the Seerah and what the verses they recite mean.

Do you teach Islamic Studies without Quran classes?

Yes. Most children take it alongside their Quran lessons, but it can be a course on its own. Tell us what you would like when we message you, and we arrange it that way.

Can my child have a female teacher?

Yes. You choose a male or female teacher, and our class supervisors are women.

Which language are the lessons explained in?

English, Arabic or Urdu, whichever your child follows best. Duas and surahs are always learned in Arabic, with their meaning.

Can I watch my child’s lessons?

Yes. You can sit beside your child or watch the lesson live from another room, and with younger children we encourage it for the first few classes.

What if my child already knows how to pray?

Then the teacher checks the details, such as wudu, the positions and the pronunciation, and moves on to what your child has not covered yet. The trial is where they find that point.

How much do Islamic Studies classes cost?

Plans start at $39 a month for two 30-minute lessons a week, billed in US dollars. See the fees page for every plan.

How does the free trial work?

You leave your country and WhatsApp number, we agree a time with you, and your child has up to 3 free trial classes. No card is needed, and you decide afterwards whether to continue.
